I was rather surprised when I came across a book from 1910 in public domain today. This book seems as though it could have been written yesterday when describing the benefits and need of gardening for all people no matter where they live or what their profession is. It would seem that many of the concerns we have with unhealthy eating, poor exercise and a need for a relief of stress was also a concern in 1910.
Mulch can be one of the greatest assets available for your garden, it can be used in the garden beds to suppress weeds and to create wonderful rich soil with tons of nutrients for your plants. It is also great to use in your garden pathways and around trees and shrubs. I also like to use it just to add more curb appeal to my landscaping by putting it around my house and sidewalks in shady areas where not much will grow. All in all mulch is a wonderful resource to have but where do you get an abundance of it without breaking the bank?
