This Is The Best Do It Yourself Garden Soil Test I’ve Found!
I have tried a few home soil testers over the years to try and figure out my soil condition and what it needs for the best production and healthiest food. What I usually find is that the tests are not that accurate compared to sending samples to a lab. This however can get pretty expensive if you are testing several locations.
Finally I found one that works! If you want an accurate measurement of your soil PH, and the nitrogen, phosphorus, and potassium levels without sending in multiple samples to a lab then you will want to get the LaMotte garden soil test kit.
If you are just starting to garden it’s important to know what you’re dealing with in your garden soil right from the beginning. A test like this can let you know what you need to add to your soil to give you the most success with your garden.
Maybe you have been gardening for many years and things don’t seem to be growing as good as they used to. It’s easy to under and over supplement your garden soil in one or more areas causing your garden to under perform. This test can let you know if you need to add something or even stop adding a particular amendment.
I struggled growing blueberries for years because my soil PH wasn’t ideal for what it takes to grow great blueberry bushes. It’s hard to know that without an accurate test and now I know what it takes on my part to amend the soil to get that PH in the 4.5 to 5.5 range that bluberries thrive in, unlike most things.
There are cheaper testers out there but THEY DO NOT WORK in my experience. They are just not accurate, especially the ones that have probes you stick in the soil.
Sometimes You Need To Send Soil To A Lab To Get Tested. A test like this won’t tell you everything about your soil so if you feel like you need to test for dangerous levels of heavy metals or chemicals then you need to get a lab to do that testing but if your just wanting to check PH and NPK levels this would be the test kit to get.
If you want to know your soil condition and want to check it yourself then do yourself a favor and get this kit. The LaMotte Garden Soil Test Kit is the best I have found.
